Tiny Home
Project Type: New Build
Location: Whidbey Island
Seeking a change of pace, a Portland family traded city life for a five-acre regenerative farm on Whidbey Island. They commissioned JRA to build a mobile tiny home to serve as a welcoming retreat for visiting family and friends. This project was a true labor of love, utilizing salvaged FSC-certified wood to give the space a unique, storied character. Despite its small footprint, the home is a powerhouse of efficiency, featuring Aerogel strips to thermally break the wall and floor structures, a mini-split for climate control, and self-contained systems including a composting toilet and graywater management.
